About
A Waimea Tradesman, a Hundred-Pound Dog, and the Science of a Dry Roof.
Why "Tombstone and the Handyman"
Named After the Dog. On Purpose.
Tombstone is a roughly hundred-pound brindle, and he's the reason the company has its name. Out here people hire the person, not the company. So the person, and the dog, are right here on the page. You call one number, you get Jordan, and the work gets done to one standard.

The science
What Looks Like Age Is Chemistry.
Why shingles fail
Asphalt is a saturated mat. UV and heat drive off the lighter oil fractions, the mat stiffens, granules release, and cracking and curling follow.
The misdiagnosis
Traditional roofing reads oxidation as end-of-life and quotes a replacement. In a lot of cases the structure is sound and the roof is dry. In Hawaiʻi, where replacement is slower and dearer than almost anywhere, that gap costs homeowners more.
ShingleLock™ chemistry
USDA Certified Bio-Based and plant-derived. It penetrates rather than coats, restoring the oil fraction the shingle has lost. Sealers and coatings sit on the surface and trap the problem underneath. This goes into the mat.
Less waste, which matters more on an island
Roughly 11 million tons of asphalt shingle waste reach U.S. landfills each year. On an island, landfill capacity and disposal logistics are a sharper constraint. A treatment with no tear-off waste matters more here.
